Why is Mutual Fund Investing Level 2?

Last week week we covered why we call Kaiser Long Term Healthcare as Level 1 Investing. You can review this on this page : Kaiser Level 1

When we define our Personal Financial Strategies (PFS) after the BPM (Business Presentation) we were told about the three levels of investing. Kaiser is Level 1 and Mutual Fund is Level 2. So let me share about Mutual Funds and Why I consider this to be a Level 2 Investing.

Learning is a continuous journey and like any other field you want to get in you learn by stages or some prefer to call it ladder. And in most systems be in schools (the formal education) or in-house (corporate training and seminars) there is no way for you to get back to the previous level and there is a pre-requisite before you can take the next level.

In IMG we both have the freedom to choose which venue to get in and the ability to move up in what level of training we want to get into. More than that we also have capability to repeat any of the Training Series. Because in IMG- International Marketing Group we simply employ repetition so that we can master and duplicate our trainer. For our objective in our training is to create more trainers who will become leaders who will create more leaders. II. What are the Opportunities in IMG Training

You maybe a high school , a college degree holder or even have a doctorate degree but you will have to subject yourself to a training process that puts you all in the same level. And you will be surprised, your degree helps but it really does not matter in IMG.

The Different Opportunities in IMG Training are:
A. BPM/BMP - Business Presentation. This is the first stage training which introduces our company and what we do. The BPM (Bring People to the Meeting) is when we go to IMG office while BMP(Bring Meeting to the People) is when IMG Trainers visit us. This is the first level contact and training in our IMG career which is open to members and non-members. We take this course repetitively together with people we share our basic concepts. This can be by group as in a classroom type of presentation or a more personalized one on one training. This has many schedules in place. You ask your Marketing Directors or Trainers for your specific schedule. For our Team, our BPM Schedules are Tuesday 10AM and 2PM, Thursday 10AM and 2PM, and Saturday 6PM. This is FREE! B. Upstart- This is for us to know the Mission, Vision and the Compensation Plan of our IMG Business. Tis happens every Saturday 9Am and 2PM .

C. Higher Series- This training is available only for members and there is no pre-requisite which particular "Series" you want to get into. This happens every Wednesday 7PM. My favorite topic here is "The Holy Use of Money". On a once a quarter basis too, there is a "Market Update" by no less than Rex Mendoza: one of the best if not the best fund manager in the world today.This is also FREE!

D. Product Training- This is the product orientation of the companies we represent in IMG. They come to the office and do their product appreciation training to all the members. This is by special arrangements and do not have regular schedule except for Kaiser that runs every Saturday 11AM for Long Term Healthcare and Wednesday 2PM for the Short Term Healthcare.

E. Business Flow Training- This is a continuing training conducted by our President- Joen Delas Penas. This happens every Friday 7PM. If you want to learn how Sir Joen does the business then be in this training.

We also do the (P-I-P)- Prospecting- Inviting-Presenting Training and Sharing every Saturday 6PM.. Learn from your MD's/Leaders their own experiences highlighting their challenges and their strategies. F. Team Meetings/Training- Team Meetings whether it is the 9AM Club, or the Regular Team Meetings are Opportunities of Learning from your trainers and fellow trainees. For the Truly Rich Makers Team, we have the 9AM Club every Tuesday and Thursday in Makati, and our Team Meeting every Thursday at 530PM. We also have the MD Executive Meeting every Thursday 2PM and our Business Flow (P-I-P) every Saturday 6PM. Of course this is also FREE!

G. Conventions- IMG has set up once a quarter convention of IMG Members all over the world. This is done both in and outside the country. The last IMG Convention was held February 17 in Singapore. This coming June 22-23, the convention will be in MOA-SMX. We expect more than 1500 attendees for this convention. Conventions is the BIG Event we must not miss if we are serious in our Mission and Business. This is the ultimate training. This is where the successful Builders in the company share their own experience and how they were able to achieve their success. This is the opportunity to link up with great Leaders. Often times this comes out also FREE if you meet the PROMO Requirements like 5:5 Runs.

Fely and I are both started our journey with the basic of how we should manage our finances which is our Series 1 Training or the BPM. We listened to this training over and over for so many number of times with so many different trainers for about two years. Our attendance to the different available training move us up from "I wont" to "I did". We move up initially to be Trainers for BPM and BMPs initially in our office in Cavite. Eventually we shared the concepts all over the world. Then, we moved from being Trainers to Leader of our TRM-Truly Rich Makers Team and eventually became Big Builders of the Fastest Growing Team of Champions: TRM Team!

III. Levels Of Training:

There are four levels of Training in IMG that Fely and I went through. These are:

A. Trainee Level (MD Trainee)- This is the very first level. We have to listen and learn attentively to BPM by many different trainers. Our very first mentor trainer were Doc Jaime and Doc Dada. We also listened to the great mentors like Mam Shirley and Mam Cathy. We were inspired by their own story. But the first encounter we have with IMG as a Trainee is when we attended the Truly Rich Coaching Seminar by Bro Bo Sanchez. In that seminar we first saw and heard our leaders Sir Noel and Sir Joen. To this date, every opportunity we have, we listen to them to continually learn. We are forever a Trainee even if we have moved up as a Trainer.

B. Trainer Level (MD Club)- To climb to this ladder, you simply do what you learn as a trainee. You cannot train someone else if you yourself do not do what you train them. Fely and I did what we learned as a Trainee. We internalized the concepts and applied it. We first check out our cash flow and our net worth. We defined our financial goals and executed the Solid Financial Foundation. Then we were able to stand on moral grounds to share to others. We moved from being a Trainee to a Trainer by simply sharing what we do. Our focus was to master and apply the BPM and BMPs so we can be a Trainer. So we went out in the field and do our BPMs. The first two years of being a Trainer we switch from Trainee to Trainer and duplicate what we learn from our great mentors.

C. Leader (MD)- From a Trainer we succeeded to move one notch higher and that is to become a Leader. We got promoted to Marketing Director and became a Leader of our Team- Truly Rich Maker Team. Becoming a Leader means you are able to duplicate yourself as a Trainer. The process was also a repetition. We just move up our Trainees to become Trainers. How? Same process: allow them to be trained and execute what they learn and let them share it.

I still remember vividly the first BPM of our NMD Malvin Leano. He was wearing a "puruntong" short and our mode of presenting was via acetate and foil pen projected by the old style OHP- Overhead Projector. Malvin's first presentation was the X-Curve.Concept. The OHP was blowing hot air and Malvin was perspiring not because of that, but because it was his first Training. He is conducting the Training yet he was also a Trainer. eventually as Matin (the wife) and Malvin do what they share, they became powerful sharer (the real meaning of IMG Trainer) and now a BIG Builder in IMG!

D. Builder (MD Factory)- This is the ultimate goal. This is the final outcome or product of our Duplication System. We have to move from being a Leader to makers of Leaders. From being an MD to an MD Factory. Once we achieved the MD position we are not really an MD till we promote more MD in our own team. Again, this is a simple process of helping your Trainers to become MD too. You must not rely on your MD to do this for you. You should have the initiative to do it for yourself. And guess what is the secret to get to this level?: NONE. All we have to do is to continue to Train and be Trained. Align with great Leaders and Builders. Get coached to be a good coach. Be mentored by those who have been successful in building their own Team. Continue to go through the different Opportunities of Learning and continue to support and encourage your team. You just focus first on your first three you wan to become an MD. See p130 of System Builder.

The First Three (Big Three of TRM) are Nancy and Manny Martin, Malvin and Matin Leano, and Malou and Vener Torres. They actually belong to one leg in our team. We focused our effort and energy to help and train them to become Trainers and eventually MD Builders. We attend together all the Opportunities fro Learning. We not only develop the habit, discipline and the know-how to build our big teams, but we also build it big together as a team and as a family.

Preparation of A Trainee

How does a Trainee prepare to be a Trainer in IMG? What are the Tools and avenues for Training?

I. The Very First Thing to Prepare: Our Mind

It is not the How that matters, it is the Why. As a trainee, the most important thing to prepare is really the "Mind Set". And to prepare the mind, we begin with the end in mind (8 Habits of Highly Effective People- Stephen Covey). This is why in the very first page of our Trainer's Manual you can find there the "Top Ten Reasons to Win". This is the first thing we need to prepare. We have to define our compelling reasons why we want to succeed in IMG Business. We must picture in our minds something we deeply desire to achieve.

The bigger and stronger our desire to win, the better prepared we are to train.

Prepare your mind to be positive. Fill it with positive thoughts and have a positive attitude.

Be enthusiastic and energetic.

II. What Else Do we Need to Prepare:

Prepare the Prospect List (PPL) and update before the training. Read p 25-30 all about PPL. This is the most important daily preparation of a trainee in the field.

Read and re-read everyday all about our System on p.14-16

From the PPL set up at least 3 appointments for your trainer. In a day, at least 3 prospects will be visited as

Send advanced information about the profile of the prospect. The trainee must provide the MACHODA information to the trainer.

Confirm appointment with the prospect a day before the actual training and an hour before the training. Make sure that the prospect is informed of the status of the meet up.

Create at least 2-3 back up schedules for drop by stop by. This is to ensure that in case there is a cancellation of schedule or there is still time for the trainer to visit additional prospects a back up list is available. Thus, it is necessary that the trainee group the prospects in one cluster that are nearby each other.

Prepare complete set of Apps. It is not good to go in combat without the needed ammunition.

III. Action Required:

1.Check and Review Your Dreams/Goals for 2013 with your family. Declare to your friends. Post it in your Novena to God's Love, and Trainers Manual. Create a Vision Board.

2. Read p25-30 all about PPL.

3.Study our System. P14-17

4. Attend the Meeting/Training and Go out in the Field to be Trained

Why is Kaiser Level 1 Investing (Updated Oct 2016)

Level 1 Investing: Kaiser

I. What is Kaiser Long Term Health Care?

It is our prime product in providing a long term healthcare beyond our senior years. It provides the needed security and protection for our healthcare needs on our retirement years.

Kaiser is not a pre-need for you can use it as soon as you pay your first investment. It is also accredited by major hospitals such as Makati Medical, St. Lukes, Asian Medical among many others. It is registered and controlled by three Government regulating bodies: SEC-Securities and Exchange Commission, DoH- Department of Health, and IC- Insurance Commission.

When we invest in Kaiser, about 51% of the funds goes to Mutual Fund Investment and the funds are managed by no less than the best fund manager in the Philippines.

When I was employed, I was given a short term healthcare. It is my protection in case I get hospitalized. I am covered with an insurance that in case I get sick or hospitalized, I have a card I can use to get into a hospital and pay for my bills. It is short term for the company pays it to cover me just for one year and for as long as I am with the company. It is paid every year whether I use it or not. Nothing is retrieved back.

As differentiated from this short term health care, Kaiser is only paid for 5 years for the Kaiser Premium and 7 Years for the Kaiser Ultimate HealthCare, and you do not have to pay afterwards. Kaiser Ultimate is the improved version of the Kaiser Premium and this is what we NOW promote. Unlike the short term healthcare, Kaiser Long term covers you beyond 60 years of age. In fact, for as long as there is fund in your Kaiser Long Term Health Care, you and your beneficiary can continually use it. Not just for hospitalization but for anything, for anyone, anywhere in the world after the 15th year for the Premium and 20 years for the Ultimate. Kaiser also gives you the advantage to retrieve back what you pay if you do not get sick. When it matures, you gain back more than what you have paid.

II. Why is Kaiser Level 1 Investing

In investing, we learned that there are 3 major factors we have to consider. These are: Amount of money you invest, the Rate of Return , and the Time you allow your money to grow.

On the Rate of Return, we also know that the higher the Risk we take, the higher the rate of return we can have. Since Kaiser is guaranteed to yield no less than 7% interest annually after it matures, then it offers the least risk. So it qualifies under Level 1 investment alongside Savings Deposits, Time Deposits, Corporate and Government Securities/Bonds. But definitely, Kaiser offers the distinct advantage of a relatively higher return than most of these Level-1 Investment vehicles you can ride on.

Kaiser offers also a distinct advantage of guaranteed successful, disciplined approach in investing for all our major financial needs: Healthcare for Old age, Insurance Protection, Money for Retirement Needs, Emergency Funds. All Four in One needs which you can start up to invest on with very little amount of money as low as 90 Php per day.

I consider it also as level 1 not just because of the guaranteed growth but also because it also develops the habit of investing. For first time investors, the real challenge is not how to pick the investment vehicle that gives the highest return. The challenge is really how to make sure we keep on investing. In other words, the challenge of a new investor is really to develop the habit of investing.

Finally, I consider Kaiser as the first level of investing for it answers the basic investment goals and it guarantees success no matter what happens to us. If we live long and do not get sick we win. If we get sick while investing, we win. If even on the worst case, that someone who has Kaiser dies or is disabled, he still wins. Why? Because in any of these aforementioned circumstances, you or your beneficiary will have benefits or gains from what you invested in.

III. Why Do We Start with Level 1

IMG Members who opt to become brokers are required to get into Level 1 Investing for we want to do our own investing the proper way. We want to make sure we follow the Solid Financial Foundation. We want to be financially secured and succeed in our own investing. We do not worry whether the market goes down or up for we are assured that our money will grow no matter how the market moves.

Once we have our Level 1 Investing and we still have extra money for Level 2, then we can proceed with our Level 2 Investing.

Moving up!

I. Graduation Time!

A lot of young people are moving up! March is the month of Commencement Exercises which is more commonly called as Graduation. But whether we call it graduation or commencement it signals new beginning. We finish one level and move to another level. Two of my 4 kids are graduating this month. Rocky will finish his college education while Chiara completes her High School Diploma and moves to College. Rocky on the other hand moves to the workforce.

This month of March for TRM, we will have as a series of Training that is focused on "Why and How we Will Graduate from Trainee to Trainer. Will share our fantastic journey of transforming ourselves from students of the IMG System to teacher or trainer of the System: From someone who absorb the wisdom to becoming one of the wisdom giver.

We will have a super fantastic sharing on: Preparations of a Trainee, Stages of Training, and the Practicum: Power of 5:5 in Training in the Field. We will share our 5 years of experience and our continuing journey of becoming Wisdom Giver and we hope and pray by this we can graduate you from being a Trainee to a Trainer and bless more people with what we do in IMG. II. What's New With TRM

We will commence with our Higher Series Training this month! The first Higher series we will have this first Tuesday of the Month is why we call our first three levels of investing as Level 1 Level 2, and Level 3.

We also have started with our EVC shirt design contest for all TRM Members. The EVC Shirt will be our way of rewarding our TRM Team Members who get to qualify for a 3:3:7. This is on top of the 10K Reward by IMG on the 5:5 Qualifiers till March 18.

We are so excited about our June MOA-SMX Convention this year! Preparations already started. Sign up with your MDs if you are coming to the June Convention so we can prepare the logistics including the hotel booking for those who are coming from outside Manila.

I started 2003 travelling to USA because of the free USA Vacation from IMG. Thank you IMG!!! This is my 4th time to go to US because of business trips and relocation assignment from Intel where I used to work for, so it's not enitrely new or a first-time experience for me. I was really looking forward to it because it's been a while since I was there and I really love to see new places, take pictures, buy some souvenirs - typical tourist I should say.

But this trip is different. Having attended the WSB Convention in Santa Clara really made me understood what it means to have a real business like IMG Business. Xuan said that the biggest challenge of our business is that it is so SIMPLE, many people do NOT understand it. It takes a while, you need to have enough time to have a good understanding of what the business is, what it can do, how it changes people's lives. You have to stay put and never stop learning, until you realize you stumbled upon a BIG business, a great opportunity.

System Discipline is the key take away for me in this convention. It's the daily discipline that will make or break your business. Subject and Submit yourself to the System. So it's easier to DUPLICATE to your team.

How IMG Changed My Life??
Attending conventions in IMG is not like entertainment, you walk into a Life Changing Event.
IMG changed my life not just because of the literacy in proper financial planning, investing and applying them buy doing the investing ourselves. It is the CONSCIOUSNESS that was instilled to us as a couple to really plan what we wanted in life, be simple in how we live, remove or deprioritize the unnecessary things that really did not matter much.

IMG brings about a part of our Purpose in Life. If you're the RIGHT person to be here, you will find your purpose here.

In travelling alone, we do not just splurge on expenses, we also make time to share what we teach in IMG, do the mission. The more you do it, and especially if done overseas, the more you will meet people, and see how little to almost none, their knowledge in investing. When you do not invest, your money doesn't grow. And when it does not grow, it doesn't last enough to fund your own retirement. So back-to-poverty cycle again for the next generation. The poverty cycle never stops.

So everytime I make an appointment, I really pray for that person and his/her family because you're not just teaching concepts, you are also opening doors of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to really become successful financially and emotionally too.

Recently, my husband and I talked about the other night while on a long-drive from Bataan;

In our life, we can choose to be the same as others, we can work for as long as we would like, to get the promotions and raise in salary, drop a few investments for our personal goals and our kids, enjoy life doing vacations, etc. But if we live this way, we would have only lived for our family ("nabuhay lang tayo para sa pamilya natin"), we did not really live for others. ("Nabuhay ka lang para sa sarili mo, hanggang duon lang, tapos na.)

If we want to be great and live a great legacy to others, the GAMEPLAN is different. It will be harder, very uncommon, out of your comfort zone, but it doesn't mean it's not achievable, it CAN BE DONE. BE DIFFERENT. Why? Because here, you first develop YOU, yourself. Then you DUPLICATE you to your Team.

One thing that inspires me is that here in IMG I was able to see people who are already successful, RICH, SUCCESSFUL but with a very GIVING heart. I want to be like them. They live their lives serving others, blessed so much of their families and wealth, and pulls people up to become more successful. Where can I find that environment nowadays??

So, Keep Going Until You Change Your Family's Life.

V. What are The Exciting Events Coming!

The most recent Convention of Champions in Singapore Last February 17 had been completed and our next major events are in June and July this year.
