Key Measures: What Blew My Mind...

Why People Fail? (p304)

In our Business, and in any other business, people fail because they start with FEAR. And we cannot blame them. I had fears as well. I feared that I may loose all our investments. I also fear that my previous experience as an engineer is a hindrance and a laughing matter if I choose to pursue a career in IMG.

What Are The Common Fears We Have?

1. Fear of what people say.

2. Fear of rejection

3. Fear of not knowing enough

4. Fear of failure

5. Fear of speaking in public

6. Fear of the word "Recruit"

7. Fear of Networking Stigma

8. What else can you add?..A lot more....

When I joined the company, I even fear telling people I am with IMG. I cannot even say the three letter words our company has IMG. Why? Because I fear that people will laugh at me. I fear that people will mock me and put me down for I cannot find a job that suits my background.  "Nakakahiya na nakakaiyak pa (shameful and can even make you cry) is what I felt inside me.

How To Turn Fear to Good Use (p305)… How Did I?

With fear at the forefront of starting up business who do you think can succeed.  In our System Builder Book p304, Xuan outline the " FEAR FACTOR". He said that "many people let fear control them, hold them back, and slow them down."

But our Fear can also be turned to positive. Such as: Fear of losing that fired you up in sports competition. Fear of disappointing your parents that helped you excel in class and get good grades."

Do not Fear anymore. There is a Big hope. Because "fear is a luxury of your mind that you cannot afford." And as Xuan say too... "Fear is not necessarily bad. Actually it can be a great asset.

Remember all the good fears that you had? I used fear of not being able to get college education to motivate me to study hard and get scholarship. I used my fear of not being able to survive our retirement years to pursue full time and big time our IMG Business. I used fear of not being able to provide for the needs of my family and my big responsibility for my children's college education to build our team across the globe!

I also counteracted FEAR with LOVE... I learned from Bro Bo that LOVE conquers all including fear. SO when I go for BPMs/BMPs in any place, I go there out of love. To serve those who are hungry for financial literacy. To provide light to those who are in darkness of debts. This eliminated my fear of being rejected for I did not come for my own benefit but out of LOVE for others in need. And it feels really good!

I would like to receive your feedback on this at this point. Anyone who would like to share their experience of combating fears? Send it as a comment on this page or email it to me NOW at richbenj.santiago@gmail.com

Begin With the End in Mind (Stephen Covey)

So how do we properly start up anything? Moreso a Business? Or any endeavor. I believe it pays to think ahead of what you want to accomplish. Stephen Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" tells us that we must begin with the end in mind. T Harv Ecker on the other-hand say, "what the mind can conceive will materialize" in his book entitled "Millionaires Mind" . Bro Bo in his book "8 Secrets of the Truly Rich" say, to be truly rich starts with a change in Mind Set. All three great inspirational writers emphasize the importance of the mind. Add to this Rhonda Byrnes "Power of Attraction", and Bro Bo's "How to Turn Thoughts into Things". Need I say more? We simply need to change our beliefs. We must believe in ourselves, our business and define with confidence what we want to achieve.

Find Out Where You Are? ...

To plot out our journey to our destination, the first thing you need to know is where do you start? You got to know where you are. Some corporate planners call this "Perspective". You got to know your vantage point. Let us do a simple exercise. Pls stand up, close your eyes, do some turns, then try to determine what is the right direction towards the toilet with closed eyes. You can't really get to your destination without knowing where you are. Am I right?

Same thing with your business plans. You got to know what is your current situation so you can see how far are you from your desired level of business.

It is also a must that you do our own "financial check up" so you know your current cash flow and net worth.

Define Your Measurements of Success...Keep on Checking.. Keep on Upgrading... Finally  Something Really Blew My Mind (USA WSB Convention-2012)...

In IMG Business, I applied Corporate Planning Strategies since 2010 January. Fely and I sat down in our dining table and draw up our business strategy. We made sure we have commitments and measurements. Key Measurements we initially have are:

1.) How Many Join and Own for Each Week.

2.) How Much Income for Each Week.

Fely and I moved with more confidence and did the IMG Business as "Real Business" run like "Corporate Style". We were able to promote 2 MDs in that year. That was Nancy/Manny couple and Matin/Malvin couple. By the following year we upgraded our business monitoring to include: 3.) MD's Promoted, 4.) Our Target Promotion to EVC. We also upgraded our Presentation Materials and the way we do the presentations. We moved as a cohesive team and captured the Top Awards for 2011. We thought we were already the "Best" in the whole business till Fely and I were able to get to attend the USA WSB San Jose Convention February 2012.

It literally blew my mind! I felt I was number one in the Philippines and would be BIG time too in USA. But I was flatly mistaken. I felt that what we have accomplished is just the dirt in the little finger of the lowest performer in USA. My gosh, they are earning 6 figures per month in Dollars. Fhedy Mehrian ( I hope I got his name correctly); a young guy who is barely in his 30's with about a little over 10 years of doing the business (he started at age 18) runs his own office in Los Angeles California. A huge office that I never had previously included in my "mind plan" of my IMG Business. It practically blasted into pieces what I initially envisioned as our office. What I had in mind before I saw Fhedy's office is just the size of the toilet in his building (sorry for the comparison). His Business operation is so huge and he has really built it big across the USA. From his humble beginning   of not even having his own cabinet for his dresses, he now owns Mansions (take note its plural, mansions...) That experience made me to revise and upgrade my Business Goals and Plans BIG time. I also upgraded my personal Investment Target to about 5 Times more than my initial Target. If there is one BIG thing that happened to me that year, it was my realization that IMG is indeed a huge business if we treat it as it is. It really pays to attend conventions. I thank IMG for giving us that FREE (All expense paid) Convention with leisure trip to USA which we totally enjoyed and more importantly enlarged my vision!

Xuan’s Story (p334-341)

Let me borrow a comparison used by Bro Bo: I am but a small bacteria in the toe nail of the ant compared to our Head Coach Xuan. If I inspire you with what Fely and I had accomplished in 5 years, wait till you read and re-read Xuan's story.

Everyone can accomplish what he has demonstrated for he has put it into a system that we can simply follow. We are so lucky that in 2001 the System Flow had been introduced and that the System Builder  Book in 2002 had been published to document our Proven System.

In closing I would like to use the closing paragraph of Xuan's Story: Let us read aloud together "We are truly building a new distribution system that will change the industry and contribute to the people around us. The build up of the generation of system builders has already begun. I believe the future builder will be much bigger than many builders in the past, and that's the way it should be."- Xuan Nguyen
